Johns Hopkins Cruises to 9-0 Win at McDaniel

• The Short Story: The 23rd-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team dropped just one game en route to a 9-0 win at McDaniel on Tuesday afternoon.
 
How it Happened
• Sophomore Anjie Kashyap and freshman Jessica Liang won 8-1 at first doubles over Michelle Addo and Lia Posatko. At second, freshmen Anya Gunewardena and Amanda Ruci beat Rachael Hartley and Mollie Riner, 8-0. Freshmen Sophie Saland and Lillian Oliver won by the same score at third over Reaiah Rutherford.
• Hopkins did not lose a game in singles as each match was decided in straight sets. Kashyap secure the win for the Blue Jays with her win at first over Addo. Liang defeated Posatko at second and Gunewardena beat Hartley at third.
• Ruci defeated Rutherford at fourth, Saland beat Riner at fifth and Oliver beat Akire Gaines at sixth.
 
What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 29-4 all-time against McDaniel and wins its 19th straight in the series. In fact, the Blue Jays have not lost a singles or doubles match to the Green Terror since 2001.
• JHU has won 10 straight matches after starting the year off at 1-3.
 
Up Next
• Hopkins returns to action on Saturday as the Blue Jays host the Haverford Fords. The Blue Jays and the Fords are the only two unbeaten teams left in the Centennial Conference.
