rd-Johns Hopkins men's tennis team came out on top in a battle of the last two Centennial Conference unbeatens Saturday. The Blue Jays bested the visiting Haverford Fords, 7-2.

How it Happened
• Hopkins grabbed an early 2-1 lead after doubles and then won five of six singles matches to complete the win.
• Sophomore
Vishnu Joshi and junior
Vik Vasan put the Blue Jays on top 1-0 with an 8-5 win over Nick Sweeney and Arnav Patodia at third doubles. Juniors
Joe Cartledge and
Austin Gu doubled the lead when they beat Josh Moskovitz and Kevin Yan, 8-7 (4), at first. Pranav Krishnan and George Jiang cut that lead in half with an 8-6 win at second over junior
Aaron Carey and senior
Scott Thygesen.
• Gu took the first point of singles, and lost just two games in the process, as he beat Yan at second to put JHU up 3-1. Cartledge followed with a 6-0, 7-5 win over Sweeney at fifth. Thygesen then clinched the win as he defeated Jiang 7-5, 6-1 at third.
• Moskovitz picked up another point for the Fords with a 6-4, 6-3 win at first over Joshi. Junior
Cody Kim then beat Krishnan 6-3, 6-1 at fourth and Carey closed out the match with a 6-4, 6-1 win at sixth over Patodia.

What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 33-31 all-time against Haverford and has won 20 straight in the series.
• The win is the 240
th in the career of head coach

• Carey and Gu are now tied for 21
st in school history with 34 singles wins each. Cartledge is now 22
nd with 40 career doubles wins, while Gu is tied for 24
th with 36 career wins. Gu is also 21
st with 70 combined wins and Cartledge is tied for 24
th with 62 combined wins.
