Hubley Matches Career Highs
« Junior wide receiver Ryan Hubley enjoyed one of the finest games of his career last week against Susquehanna as he totaled 12 receptions for 161 yards and also returned two kickoffs for 41 yards.
« The 12 receptions and 161 receiving yards both match Hubley's previous career highs and the 202 all-purpose yards are a personal best.
« Hubley now leads the team and the Centennial Conference with 15 receptions on the year and he jumped into 13th place on JHU's career receptions list with his 12 last week (127).
Pick Six
« Junior Ryan Weed notched his second interception of the young season against Susquehanna and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown that gave Hopkins a 21-7 second-quarter lead.
« The pick-six was the first for Johns Hopkins since Macauley Kilbane took one back 34 yards in a 63-31 win against Randolph-Macon in the 2018 season opener.
« Weed's interception return for a score is the 16th for Johns Hopkins since the 2000 season and the 11th since the start of the 2009 season.
Kalanik Closing on 25, 50
« Senior defensive end Mike Kalanik totaled six tackles, including 1.5 sacks, in last week's game against Susquehanna and now has 15 tackles, 3.0 tackles for losses and 2.5 sacks on the year.]
« With his efforts through the first two games, Kalanik now has 24.5 career sacks and 47.0 tackles for loss.
« With another sack, he'll become the seventh Centennial Conference player since 2000 to reach 25. With three TFLs he'll be the sixth CC player since 2000 to reach 50.
