Freshman Emily Howie posted a near triple-double with 12 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the win.

JHU matched their season-high for points in a quarter, getting off to a red-hot start to take a 21-10 lead after 10 minutes of play. Spanning nearly six minutes in the first period, the Blue Jays ripped off an 11-0 run to break the game open early, taking a 15-4 lead. Ursinus forced back-to-back turnovers resulting in buckets, but Elise Moore scored six points in the last 1:47 of the period to give Hopkins a 21-10 lead.

The scoring slowed down in the second, as JHU scored just 12 points after a 21-point first, but the Blue Jay defense held Ursinus to just four points in the quarter to take a 33-14 halftime lead.

Oden took over in the second half, scoring 16 of her game-high 27 in the second half to help JHU hold on. Aliyah Stephens got to the free-throw line 17 times after the break, scoring 16 of her 22 in the second half to will the Bears back into it. Senior Maggie Wodicka hit a pair of triples on back-to-back possessions in the latter half of the third to give Hopkins their largest lead of the game, 44-24 with just under three minutes in the period.

The Bears chipped away in the fourth, ripping off a 9-0 run before Oden hit a pair of free throws to extend the lead back to 10. Ursinus followed that with another 9-0 run, cutting the lead to one with less than two minutes to play.
