Johns Hopkins baseball coach
Bob Babb and members of his immediate family and extended Blue Jay baseball family are no strangers to charitable work in the Baltimore area. Even with the challenges presented by 2020, this holiday season was no different.
Â
Recently, Babb and his wife, Gilly, collected gifts from members of the Hopkins Baseball family. This past week, they delivered those gifts to different organizations around the area. The Babbs delivered a large number of toys to Springboard Community Services, formerly known as Family & Childrens' Services. The organization was overjoyed by the contribution from Hopkins baseball amidst a difficult year of garnering enough gifts for their clientele.
Â
Prior to that, another large group of gifts was delivered to Heaven on Earth Now. The director had just received a plea from a local charity seeking gifts for youth in their Baltimore neighborhood so the timing couldn't have been better!
Â
Finally, the last group of gifts was delivered to a handful of students from the charter school with whom Hopkins Athletics partners.
