The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins men's tennis team rallied from an early 2-1 deficit to beat 20
th-ranked NC Wesleyan Saturday afternoon in Salisbury.

How it Happened
• The Battling Bishops grabbed two of the three doubles points to take the early lead on the Blue Jays.
• Jhonny Acosta and Ingmar Remmerswaal opened with an 8-6 win over junior
Vishnu Joshi and senior
Vik Vasan at second. Nikita Revin and Max Robinson then beat freshmen
Alex Kernagis and
Andrew Tran, 8-4, at third. Hopkins started the comeback when seniors
Austin Gu and
Joe Cartledge beat Juan Vallejo and Roberto Puig, 8-7 (9) at first.
• Joshi then tied the match at two as he cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win at first singles over Puig. Acosta answered with a 6-3, 6-1 at third over Cartledge to put NC Wesleyan back on top, 3-2.
• It was all Hopkins from there. Gu rallied to defeat Vallejo 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 at second to knot the match at three. Tran followed with a close 7-5, 7-6 (4) win at fifth over Robinson to give the Blue Jays their first lead of the match.
• Senior
Aaron Carey then clinched the win as he beat Revin 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 at fourth. Sophomore
Brian Wang closed out the win with a 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (4) defeat of Remmerswaal at sixth.

What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 6-5 all-time against NC Wesleyan and snaps a two-match losing streak to the Bishops. It is the Blue Jays' first win in the series since an 8-1 victory on April 24, 2016.
• Head coach
Chuck Willenborg now has 248 career wins with the Blue Jays, leaving him just two shy of the 250-win milestone.
• Hopkins is also 3-0 to start the year for the first time since 2017 and third time in the last five years.
