AUSTIN, TX –
Rebecca Grusby, who helped Johns Hopkins to 12 conference, four regional and three NCAA Championships during a decorated career, has been named to the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America Women's Track and Cross Country Third Team it was announced today.

Grusby is the ninth CoSIDA Academic All-American in Johns Hopkins women's cross country/track history and seven of the nine have come since 2013.

A member of three national championship cross country teams, Grusby wrapped up her cross country career with a 21
st-place finish at the 2019 NCAA Championships to help the Blue Jays to their sixth national title since 2012; Grusby was a member of national championship teams as a freshman, sophomore and senior with a runner-up finish her junior year. Â The 21
st-place showing, which earned her All-America honors, was the best in four appearances at the NCAAs for Grusby.

During Johns Hopkins' current run of six NCAA titles in the last eight years, Grusby is one of just five individuals to compete in three title-winning races.

Grusby added All-America honors this year in indoor track as qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track Championships in the 3000-meter run. She was also a member of the Blue Jays' first-place DMR team and runner-up 4x800-meter relay team at the 2020 Centennial Conference Indoor Track Championships.

Grusby graduated with a 3.79 cumulative GPA and a degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering. The 2018 Centennial Conference Fall Scholar-Athlete of the Year, she served as a research and development intern at Becton Dickson, was an undergraduate research assistant with the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute and was also a teaching assistant in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
