The Short Story: The fifth-ranked Johns Hopkins men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 2-0 to Christopher Newport in the Blue Jays' final non-conference game of the season.

How it Happened
• The Captains pressured the Blue Jays early as graduate student
Xander LeFevre turned away a hard shot from close range just five minutes in. Less than a minute later, Cory Hogge sent a long ball to the back post where Colin McMunn headed it in.
• Hopkins quickly responded with scoring chances from
Liam Creedon,
Axel Whamond,
Jonathan Cui and
Logan Falzarano but CNU goalie Gabe Barros turned them all away.
• The Captains added an insurance goal in the 73
rd minute when Harry Whittleton converted a penalty kick.
• Falzarano had chance to end the shutout in the 86
th minute with a header off an
Ian Whamond corner, but Barros made the save.

• Hopkins falls to 4-3-0 all-time against Christopher Newport in the first meeting between the two since 2010.
• The loss snapped the Blue Jays' season-opening 11-game unbeaten streak. The streak was tied for the second longest in program history.
