The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins Blue Jays remained undefeated on the season, blowing past McDaniel in straight sets on Wednesday night.
How it Happened
SET ONE
• After McDaniel earned the first two points of the match, Hopkins finished the set on a 25-6 run, making quick work of the Green Terror in the first set.
• Trailing 2-0, the Jays got on the board with a McDaniel service error before getting a kill from
Danielle Norman and a kill and a block from
Elayna Williams.
• Allyson Burgee picked up a kill to cut the Blue Jay lead to 7-4, before Hopkins earned the next 10 points. Williams had four kills and a block during the stretch to lead the Jays.
Roxy Karrer picked up an ace and
Chidinma Onukwugha had a kill and a block to chip in.
• JHU took seven of the final eight points, getting kills from
Natalie Aston, Norman and
Eleni Panagopoulos to close out the set with a 25-8 win.
SET TWO
• The Jays once again took the set comfortably, jumping ahead 10-4 on the way to a 25-15 win.
• The Jays picked up four aces in the first 10 points, getting one from Aston and Norman and two from Karrer.
• A 3-0 run from the Green Terror made it 12-8 Hopkins, but JHU took the next five points with two kills from Aston and a pair of aces from
Evelyn Batista.

Pamela Chiakpo came off the bench to add three kills in the final few points for JHU.
SET THREE
• With a fresh lineup in for set three, it took the Jays a minute to find their legs, but they ultimately came away with a 25-21 victory to earn the sweep. A kill, an ace, and a pair of attack errors put JHU down 4-0 quickly.
• Hopkins took the next six points, starting with a service error from McDaniel. Karrer added a pair of kills while
Eloise Estrada got in on the action with a kill.
• McDaniel & Hopkins traded 3-0 runs with Hopkins taking a 9-7 lead after kills from Estrada and
Brooklyn Pater. A Nia Roberts kill for McDaniel cut it to 10-9 before Hopkins took the next four points.
• Leading 20-17, JHU scored five of the next six points, getting kills from Pater & Karrer while Karrer added another ace.
What it Means
• Johns Hopkins' win streak has reached 55 games. The Blue Jays are now five shy of tying the all-time Division III record with 60 consecutive victories.
• Hopkins has won 14 straight sets since dropping the first to Salisbury on Friday afternoon inside Goldfarb Gymnasium.
Inside the Box Score
• Williams was the lone Blue Jay to reach double digits, registering 10 kills in a match in which Hopkins rotated multiple players in.
• Batista was the lone Blue Jay to reach 10 digs on the defensive side. Norman (8) and
Elizabeth Hsieh (7) were closest to the Jays.
