« Among Division III teams, Johns Hopkins enters this week's game at Gettysburg tied for fourth in the nation in scoring offense at 50.8 points per game. JHU is one of just five NCAA Division III teams currently averaging more than 50 points per game.

• Prior to allowing touchdowns on back-to-back drives against Muhlenberg in the second half last week, the Blue Jay defense had not allowed a touchdown in 65 consecutive possessions dating back to the second quarter against Ursinus.
• During that 65-possession run, the Blue Jays allowed just three field goals. The lone TDs allowed during that time came when Ursinus recovered a fumbled Blue Jay punt in the end zone and F&M & Muhlenberg blocked punts that recovered in the end zone for touchdowns.
• Those 65 opponent possessions ended with 1 safety, 3 field goals, 6 interceptions, 6 fumbles lost, 5 turnovers on downs and 38 punts ... six others ended with the conclusion of either the second or fourth quarter.
Defense Among the Centennial/National Leaders
« The Blue Jay defense enters this week's game ranked among the best in the Centennial Conference and the NCAA in a number of statistical categories.
« Through six games, JHU ranks first in the Centennial in scoring defense (12.7) and rushing defense (60.3) and second in total defense (265.5), pass defense (205.2) and sacks (17).
