• The Short Story: Junior Axel Whamond scored the game's only goal to lead the sixth-ranked Johns Hopkins to a 1-0 win over visiting Washington College Saturday afternoon.
 
How it Happened
• Freshman Logan Falzarano collected a loose ball, touched it around his defender, and then dropped a pass back to freshman Ian Whamond. He took one touch and then centered the ball to brother. Axel Whamond one-timed a right-footed shot just inside the left post in the 20^th minute to put Hopkins on top 1-0.
 
What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 49-25-2 all-time against Washington College and has won six straight in the series.
• The Blue Jays push their season-opening unbeaten streak to 11, the longest since 2017. It is also tied for the second longest in school history.

• Axel Whamond's goal is his second in as many games and is his second career game-winner.
• Graduate student Xander LeFevre finished with three saves to earn his sixth shutout of the season and 20^th of his career. His 20 shutouts are tied for seventh in program history while he now ranks fifth in career saves (169). Pinto made three saves for the Shoremen in the loss.
