How it Happened
The Johns Hopkins women's basketball team outscored Marymount 42-19 in the second and third quarters combined to fuel a 79-43 victory over the Saints at Stevenson University Sunday afternoon.

The Blue Jays led 20-17 after the opening quarter, but used a 20-8 run to open the second period to grab a 40-25 lead and Marymount was never closer than 13 the rest of the way.Â
Diarra Oden scored nine of her game-high 23 in the period, including the final five points in the 20-8 run on a pair of free throws and a three-pointer that extended a 35-25 advantage to the 40-25 margin.

Johns Hopkins held a 42-28 lead at the half and maintained at least a 14-point lead until late the period when the Blue Jays closed the quarter with an 11-0 run that pushed the lead to 26 (62-36) entering the final quarter. Oden scored seven points during the 11-point run, while freshman
Michaela O'Neil scored the other four for the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jay lead topped 30 on a three-pointer by
Natalie Mann just over two minutes into the fourth quarter and the margin never dipped below 30 in the final 7:55 of what eventually became a 36-point victory.
