WASHINGTON, DC – Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse senior attacker Aurora Cordingley has been named to the 2021 Tewaaraton Award Watch List it was announced this afternoon. This is her first time being named to the Watch List and at least one Blue Jay has been named to the list 15 times in the last 18 seasons.
 
The list included the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlights the early contenders for the 2021 Tewaaraton Award. The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.
 
Cordingley leads the Blue Jays with 10 goals and seven assists and is tied for third with six caused turnovers. She ranks third in the Big Ten in assists and is tied for seventh in goals. Last season, she led Hopkins in goals (17) and assists (18) before the 2020 season was cancelled. She led the Big Ten with 2.57 assists per game and ranked second with 5.00 points per game. Cordingley ranks in the top-20 in school Division I history in career points (142), goals (87) and assists (55).
 
Players not named to the initial lists have several opportunities to play their way into a spot as the season progresses. Watch list additions, if applicable, will be announced on April 2. On April 23, the field will be narrowed to 25 men's and 25 women's nominees. Nominees can be players on the watch lists or players not on the watch lists, effectively allowing for a second round of additions.
