OPENING DRAW
Johns Hopkins wraps up the regular season in Ann Arbor with a two-game series versus the 23rd-ranked Michigan Wolverines.
• Hopkins is coming off a 13-11 win at 13th-ranked Penn State on Sunday in which head coach Janine Tucker earned her 300th career win.
• The two games at Michigan wrap up a stretch of six games in 17 days for the Blue Jays. 
• Hopkins can lock up the number three seed in next week's Big Ten Tournament with one win over Michigan.
 
AFTER THE BREAK
• The 26-day layoff seems to be just what the doctor ordered. In the four games since, JHU has scored 51 goals, with 27 assists, and is connecting on 70.3 percent of its shots on goal. In addition, Hopkins is 11-of-27 (.407) on free position shots and is 53-of-98 at the draw (.541). In the cage, Hopkins has posted a .494 save percentage and a 10.00 goals against average.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• Johns Hopkins beat host Penn State, 13-11, on Sunday to sweep the season series with the Nittany Lions. The win also brought the Blue Jays back to .500 on the season at 5-5.
• Trailing by four midway through the first half, Hopkins scored three goals in less than six minutes to pull within one. But a pair of Nittany Lion goals sandwiched around a strike from Shelby Harrison gave the Lions an 8-6 lead at the half. The Blue Jays opened the second half with a 5-1 run to take an 11-9 lead with 10 minutes to go. The teams traded goals over the closing minutes and Hopkins took home the two-goal win.
Mackenzie Heldberg (1g, 3a), Maggie Schneidereith (2g, 2a) and Maeve Barker (3g, 1a) led the Blue Jays with four points apiece. Annika Meyer had a game-high three caused turnovers and Madison McPherson had a team-best four draws. Kathleen Garvey made 10 saves for her sixth double-digit save performance of the season.
 
I'M HONORED
Seniors Aurora Cordingley, Shelby Harrison and Kathleen Garvey were honored by the Big Ten on April 13 for their performances in Hopkins' wins over Penn State and Rutgers.
• Cordingley was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Week as well as the US Lacrosse Player of the Week after totaling 12 goals, one assist, 11 draw controls and five caused turnovers in the two wins.
•  Harrison was named the Midfielder of the Week with three goals, one assist, one ground ball and 14 draw controls.
• Garvey earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after totaling 22 saves, six ground balls and a caused turnover for the week.
Freshman Abbey Hurlbrink was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on March 9 after her performance in JHU's two wins at Ohio State. She totaled three goals, one ground ball, three caused turnovers and six draws in two wins over the Buckeyes. Hurlbrink has scored nine goals, on just 13 shots on goal, in 10 games and ranks second on the team with 20 draws. She ranks second among freshmen in the Big Ten in draws and fourth in goals.

CENTURY CLUB 
Aurora Cordingley scored the 100th goal of her career on April 11 with her fifth goal of the day. She is the 14th player in school Division I history, and 28th all-time to reach the milestone.
• Cordingley and Mackenzie Heldberg each notched the 100th point of their careers last season. In fact, they did so a in a four-day span and joined Maggie Schneidereith as the only current Blue Jays with 100 career points. 
• Heldberg achieved the milestone in just 36 days, making her the sixth fastest to reach the mark since the program moved to Division I in 1999. Cordingley reached the milestone in just 40 games.
• In what turned out to be the final game of the 2020 season, Maggie Schneidereith tallied the 200th point of her career in a 13-10 win at Saint Joseph's. She is the seventh player in school Division I history, and 12th overall, to reach the milestone. In addition, it took Schneidereith just 62 games to score 200 points.
• This is the 12th time in program history that at least three teammates have had 100 (or more) career points.
 
OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN
Senior Keegan Barger has been selected in a vote by her teammates to serve as the Blue Jays' captain for the 2021 season. In addition, a member of each class was selected to serve in a "captain's cohort" to assist Barger this season.
• This marks just the fourth time in the 46-year history of the program, and the first time since 1996, that the Blue Jays will have a lone captain. Barger, who has started every game of her career, was one of three Blue Jays named to the Big Ten's Preseason Players to Watch list.
• Graduate student Lexi Souder, senior Jeanne Kachris, junior Annika Meyer, sophomore Bailey Cheetham and freshman Abbey Hurlbrink were selected for the captain's cohort.
 
300!!
Head coach Janine Tucker became just the ninth coach in NCAA Division I history to win 300 games on Sunday when Hopkins beat host and 13th-ranked Penn State, 13-11.
• Tucker is only the seventh coach, and just the second woman, in Johns Hopkins history to win 300 games. 
 
POLL POSITION
• Hopkins jumped five spots in the IWLCA Coaches Poll and is ranked 15th with 230 points. JHU is also ranked 16th in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and 15th in the Nike/US Lacrosse Poll.
• All six of the Blue Jays' 2021 opponents are ranked in the top-25 by the IWLCA this week.
• Hopkins has been ranked in 94 of the last 124 IWLCA Coaches Polls, beginning with the first regular season poll in 2012. 
 
LENDING A HAND
Maggie Schneidereith has had four multi-assist games this season and she is Hopkins' active career leader with 92 assists. She ranks fourth in school Division I history and sixth all-time in career assists. Schneidereith aso ranks eighth in the Big Ten with 1.30 assists per game.
• Last season, Hopkins ranked second in the Big Ten and 20th nationally in assists per game (7.00). Hopkins has notched 61 assists on 108 goals this season (56.5 percent). In the season opener versus Rutgers, seven of Hopkins' 10 goals were assisted. In game two against fourth-ranked Northwestern, seven of the Blue Jays' nine goals were assisted. Against Maryland, seven of JHU's eight goals were assisted. Last Sunday, Hopkins totaled 13 assists on its 17 goals. The Blue Jays rank second in the league and 27th in the nation with 6.00 assists per game.
• Last season, Aurora Cordingley led the Blue Jays and the Big Ten, and ranked 12th nationally with 18 helpers. In 2021, she is third on the team with nine assists and she is seventh in school DI history with 57 career assists.
Mackenzie Heldberg ranked second on the team and fourth in the conference with 12 assists last season. She leads the team in assists (18) and is third in the Big Ten with 1.80 assists per game this season. She also ranks 10th in program history in career assists (54). Heldberg handed out a career-best six assists in the win over Rutgers, two shy of the school single-game record.
 
ON THE OFFENSIVE
• The Blue Jays returned an astonishing amount of their offense from the 2020 season - 96.7% of their goals (90), 97.9% of their assists (48) and 97.2% of their points (138).
• Leading the way are Aurora Cordingley (17g, 18a), Mackenzie Heldberg (16g, 12) and Maggie Schneidereith (17g, 8a), who each totaled at least 20 points in seven games in 2020. Through 10 games this season, the trio has combined for 62 goals and 40 assists. They account for 57.4 percent of the Blue Jays' goals and 65.5 percent of their assists.
 
D - FENCE
• Last season, Hopkins led the Big Ten and ranked 14th in the nation with 10.86 caused turnovers per game. This season, JHU leads the league in caused turnovers (10.75) and ranks second in ground balls per game (17.50).
Annika Meyer led the Blue Jays and the Big Ten, and ranked 24th in the nation with 1.86 takeaways per game in 2020. She ranks second in the league and 15th in the nation in ground balls (3.00) this season. She also ranks third in the Big Ten and 16th in the nation with 2.00 caused turnovers per game.
Trinity McPherson has had at least two caused turnovers in a game six times this season. She ranks fifth in the Big Ten in ground balls (2.50) and second in caused turnovers (2.10) per game. She is tied for 19th in school DI history with 47 career caused turnovers.
Keegan Barger is the team's active career leader with 56 caused turnovers, which ranks 12th in school Division I history. She also holds the school single-game record with seven takeaways in a game. Jeanne Kachris ranks 13th in school history with 52 caused turnovers.

• Senior Shelby Harrison has led the team in draws in each of her four seasons and ranks third all-time in school history with 227 career draws. She notched the 200th draw of her career on February 28 versus Northwestern - in just her 47th career game. Harrison averages 4.20 draws per game in her career and needs 40 draws to break Dene DiMartino's all-time record of 267.  
• Harrison holds the school record for draws in a game (11) and by a freshman (91). She has had six or more draws in a game 15 times in her career and her 4.20 career draws per game is the best in school history.
• Senior Keegan Barger is also a threat at the draw circle and she ranked second on the team in draws a year ago (17) and as a freshman (54). She ranks seventh in school history with 140 career draws. She has had five or more draws in a game nine times in her career.  
 
AGAINST THE WOLVERINES
•  Hopkins and Michigan meet for just the fifth time in a series that began in 2014. The Blue Jays lead the series, 3-1, but the Wolverines won the most recent match-up, 16-11, in Ann Arbor.
• Graduate students Mackenzie Heldberg and Maggie Schneidereith lead Hopkins with five goals apiece against Michigan, while Schneidereith also has three assists. Senior Shelby Harrison has controlled eight draws and classmate Keegan Barger has eight in two games versus the Wolverines.
