The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins women's tennis team cruised to its third win of the season with a 9-0 shutout at McDaniel Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
• The Blue Jays grabbed a quick 3-0 lead without dropping a game in doubles. Senior
Anjie Kashyap and graduate student
Sophia Strickland beat Liz Fyfe and Chandra Reiff at first. Sophomores
Anjali Devireddy and
Emily Javedan followed with a win at second over Claire Hopkins and Deja Hitch. Freshman
Ali Bader and senior
Dhanya Asokumar closed out doubles when they beat Kassidee Wright and Lizzy Hough at third.
• Hopkins turned the same trick in singles, sweeping all six matches without losing a game. Javedan pushed the Blue Jays lead to 4-0 with her win at second over Reiff. Bader then clinched the win when she beat Hopkins at third. Strickland followed with a win over Fyfe at first. Junior
Jessica Liang made it a 7-0 match with her win over Hitch at fourth. Junior
Sophie Saland then beat Wright at fifth and freshman
Hallie Gallo wrapped up the match when she defeated Hough at sixth.

What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 30-4 all-time against McDaniel and has won 20 straight in the series. The Blue Jays have shutout the Green Terror in the last 19 matches. Â
• JHU has now won 133 consecutive Centennial Conference regular season matches.
• Strickland is now tied for seventh in school Division I history with 93 career wins. She needs just seven to become the seventh in school history to reach the century mark.  Â
• Bader and Gallo each earned their first career singles wins.
