• Records: JHU (10-0) • NCWC (21-3)
• Location: Rocky Mount, NC • Vernon Bradley Complex
• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins men's tennis team beat host NC Wesleyan, 5-3, on Saturday afternoon to advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals.

How it Happened
• The Blue Jays jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the Battling Bishops with wins at second and third doubles. Freshmen James and Thomas Yu grabbed the first point of the match when they beat John Falke and Roberto Puig 8-5 at second. Senior Vishnu Joshi and sophomore Alexander Kernagis then defeated Valentin Mussi and Max Robinson, 8-3, at third to put JHU up 2-1. NC Wesleyan sliced the lead in half when Jhonny Acosta and Juan Vallejo beat freshmen Arjun Asokumar and Daniel Ardila, 8-5, at first.
• Joshi pushed Hopkins lead back to two with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Puig at first. Asokumar followed with a 6-2, 6-1 defeat of Vallejo at second and the Blue Jays led 4-1.
• The Bishops weren't going way however as Mussi grabbed a 6-1, 7-5 win at sixth over sophomore Andrew Tran. Augusta Roca followed with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Ardila at fifth and just like that it was 4-3.
• Thomas Yu earned a hard-fought 7-6 (6) win in his first set and then took the second, 6-2, to defeat Acosta at third and send the Blue Jays to Chattanooga and the NCAA Quarterfinals.

What it Means

• Joshi is now tied for 19th in school history with 40 career singles wins and 81 combined wins.
