BALTIMORE, MD – Five members of the Johns Hopkins women's track & field and cross country teams have been named to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team it was announced Thursday. The five selections tie the school record and are the most in the nation. Â

Ella Baran earn the honor for the Blue Jays. Both Gutierrez and Keklak are repeat selections. JHU has now produced 37 CoSIDA Academic All-District selections, the fifth most by any program in Johns Hopkins history, and second among all women's teams. Thirty-five of those 37 selections have come in the last decade.

Gutierrez graduated with a degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering with a 3.66 GPA. She earned All-America honors in the pole vault with a seventh place finish in 2021. She also earned All-America honors in the pole vault and pentathlon in 2020 for the indoor season. Gutierrez is a 15-time Centennial Conference medalist with seven gold, seven silver and one bronze. She was named the 2020 Centennial Conference Field Athlete of the Year as well as the 2021 USTFCCCA Mideast Region Field Athlete of the Year. Gutierrez is interning at ISHÂ Markit this summer after working as a consulting summer analyst for Accenture the last two summers. She was a Peer Tutor for the JHU PILOT Program as well as a study consultant.

Keklak earned a degree in molecular and cellular biology with a 3.77 GPA in May. She earned All-America honors in 2019 when JHU won the cross country NCAA title and earned all-region honors the 2018 NCAA runner-up team. In addition, Keklak posted a pair of top-10 finishes at the Centennial Conference cross country championships (sixth, ninth). She earned All-America honors with an eighth-place finish in the 1500 at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships and was a 2020 All-American in the mile. Keklak interned with HCBS Strategies since April 2020, providing support to agencies in five states with focus on Aging and Disability Resource Centers & Health Care Policy. She was also an undergraduate intern with Towson's Diet and Cancer Lab as well as an intern at the US EPA Office of Internal Communications.

Montane, a recipient of the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship, graduated in May with a degree in neuroscience and a 3.57 GPA. She took second in the javelin at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships and then placed third in 2021. She was a seven-time Centennial Conference medalist with two gold, three silver and two bronze. Montane was a research assistant in Hopkins' Psychology & Brain Sciences Neuroplasticity & Development Lab since 2018. She also did clinical observation hours at Harbor Physical Therapy for the last year. In addition, Montane works on the video production crew and is a front office assistant for the JHU Department of Athletics.

Olshanski graduated in May with a degree in public health and a 3.60 GPA. She is a five-time All-American, earning the honor twice for cross country and three times for track & field. She placed fifth in the 1500 at the 2019 NCAA Championships and then fourth in 2021. She also earned seven Centennial Conference medals with three gold and four silver. Olshanksi worked as a geriatric nursing assistant at Mercy Medical Center this past year while also interning at the JHU Center for Health Education and Wellness. She served as a care manager for Sunrise Senior Living in 2020 and a certified nursing assistant at B&M Consultants in 2019. Olshanksi was also a research assistant in the JHU Bat Lab as well as a lifeguard in the Recreation Center.

Baran boasts a 3.50 GPA as an environmental engineering major. She was the national runner-up in the 1500 and 5000 at the 2021 NCAA Championships. She earned All-America honors in the 3000 as well as All-Mideast honors in the mile, 3000 and DMR for the 2020 indoor season. Baran is a four-time medalist at the Centennial Conference Championships with three gold and one bronze. She is currently interning at Noblis, conducting materiality assessments, data collection and analysis. Last summer, she interned at the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Baran was a lab assistant for the JHU Environmental Engineering Lab for the last year. In addition, she is a facility manager for the JHU Recreation Center.
