NEW ORLEANS – The Johns Hopkins men's cross country team has earned a top-15 ranking in the 2021 Preseason National Coaches' Poll it was announced yesterday. The Jays slot into the 13^th spot in the poll, earning 220 points.
 
Head Coach Bobby Van Allen's squad is the top-ranked team in the Mid-Atlantic Region and will have a large amount of turnover from 2019, their last season of competition. Patrick Dye is the lone returner from 2019's top-seven where he placed 81^st at NCAA's in Louisville. Van Allen's team earned the best finish in program history, placing fifth in 2019.
 
The 2021 season will open on Wednesday, September 1^st in Timonium, MD with the Johns Hopkins Kickoff Invitational.
