The Short Story:Â The Blue Jays scored four times en route to a comfortable victory in their first away match of the 2021 season. Â

How it Happened

1st Half
After subbing on in the 13
th minute,
Callie Jones started the scoring for Hopkins in the 16
th minute. Jones tucked the ball into the opposite corner from inside the box. The goal is the second of the season for the former XC runner. Looking to tack another one on shortly after,
Rachel Jackson's shot was saved by Maeve Graham in the 20
th minute.
Caitlin Hendricks was tested for the first time in the 25
th minute, making a save on a shot from Liz Gorman. The Blue Jays mixed in a slew of shots between the 29
th and 32
nd minutes before striking again in the 33
rd. Junior captain
Molly Reich played a ball to
Sophia Stone who made a quick move at the top of the box and ripped a shot over the keeper's head for her first career goal. Stone had another chance in the 36
th, but her shot was saved by Graham. Graham made a pair of saves in the final minute of the half, leaving Hopkins with a 2-0 lead heading into the half.

2nd Half
JHU struck again early in the second half. Junior
Emma Bocanegra deflected a shot inside the left post to put JHU ahead 3-0. The goal was also Bocanegra's first career finish.
Abigail Gerdes tried to add the fourth Blue Jay goal in the 68
th minute, but her shot was saved by Graham. Two minutes later, Reich lobbed a ball up ahead to
Alanna Craig who ripped a shot across the face of the keeper and through her hands. Craig was the third Blue Jay of the day to score her first career goal. Â
What it Means
• The Jays remain unbeaten on the season, finding the back of the net four times for the second time this season.
Dan Weiler's team has scored 10 goals in four contests.
• So far this season, seven players have scored their first career goal for the Jays this season. Eight different players have scored for JHU this season.

Inside the Box Score
•
Callie Jones became the second Blue Jay to record multiple goals this season, joining
Katie Sullivan. Jones scored in the 16
th minute and also in last Sunday's 4-0 win over Mary Washington. Â
• Hopkins outshot Catholic 23-9 in the contest.
Caitlin Hendricks and the Hopkins defense have allowed just  one goal in four games.
• Junior captain
Molly Reich dished out a career high two assists in the contest. Reich had the assist on the goals from Stone & Craig.
• After suffering an injury in the preseason,
Riley O'Toole returned to action, totaling 33 minutes and getting a shot on goal in the 83
rd minute.

• The Blue Jays will have the week off before returning to Homewood Field for the Centennial Conference opener versus Bryn Mawr. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. and the senior class will be honored.
