How it Happened
• 1st Half
With senior defender Laurel Buck leaving Sunday to study abroad, Johns Hopkins hosted senior day on Saturday prior to the contest. 15 seniors and graduate students were honored. Starting an all senior lineup, Dan Weiler sent out Natalie Farrell and Arianna Konstantopoulos to take the opening kick. Both players are out with injury, but were met with hugs and applause after booting the ball out of play to bring on a pair of subs in replacement. Rachel Jackson registered the first shot on net of the game in the 18th minute, but Emma Ryan made the save for the Owls. Elizabeth Kiely's shot was saved by Hannah Lynn, who got her first career start, in the 20th minute. Lilah Isenberg narrowly missed the target in the 25th minute, setting up a corner. After about a minute of play, Katie Sullivan recieved the ball off the throw-in. Sullivan cut inside, worked around her defender, and let it rip. The ball sailed over Ryan's head giving the Jays a 1-0 lead and Sullivan her third goal of the year. Ryan made another save in the 38th minute, helping send the game to half at 1-0.
• 2nd Half
Hopkins had three shots in three minutes between the 50th and 53rd minutes, but Ryan made saves on shots from Callie Jones and Bonnie Shea pushed a header just wide off of a corner. Shea got another great look off a free kick from Ava Neijna, but her header deflected off the crossbar and the Blue Jays were whistled for offside on the rebound attempt. Chantal Riggs played the final 30 minutes of the contest in net, making a save in the 71st minute on a shot from Elizabeth Hummel. Bryn Mawr drew a foul with just 15 seconds remaining. Ariel Shultz ripped one with eight seconds remaining, but Riggs handled it for her second save.
