BALTIMORE, MD – Competing in her first XC event since 2018, Ella Baran was named Centennial Conference Athlete of the Week for her efforts. The senior captain earns her first Centennial Athlete of the Week honor in XC after earning the honor for track & field in the spring.
 
Fresh off an outstanding spring where she finished runner-up in a pair of events at NCAA's, Baran hit the trail for the first time and earned a second-place finish. Baran moved up over five spots in the final mile of the 5K race, allowing her to jump into the top-five and eventually place second of 117. She finished with a time of 18:21.5, helping JHU to an overall team victory.  
 
JHU returns to action on October 1^st and 2^nd, competing at Lehigh University and at Pre-Nationals in Louisville, KY.
