LANCASTER, PA – For the third time this season, Johns Hopkins graduate student Alex Ross has been the Centennial Conference Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week it was announced today.
 
Ross led the way for the Blue Jays at the University of Virginia's Panorama Farms Invitational last Saturday.  She placed 20th in a field of 173 entries and covered the 5k course in 17:18.3.  Johns Hopkins was the only Division II or III school in the 18-team field and Ross's effort helped guide the Blue Jays to a 15^th-place team finish.
 
Ross has been Johns Hopkins' top finisher in all four races she's competed in this season.  She won the season-opening Baltimore Metro Invitational, placed sixth overall in a field of 231 competitors at Michigan State's Spartan Invite and placed 67^th among more than 400 entries in the prestigious Gold Race at Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational.
 
Johns Hopkins will return to action on October 29 when the Blue Jays travel to Haverford for the Centennial Conference Championships.  The Blue Jays are aiming for their 14^th consecutive Centennial Conference title.
