LANCASTER, PA – For the first time in her career, Johns Hopkins freshman setter
Helena Swaak has been named the Centennial Conference Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week it was announced today. Swaak guided Johns Hopkins to three wins last week, including a pair of Centennial Conference victories.

Swaak efficiently ran the Blue Jay offense in sweeps against McDaniel, Muhlenberg and Eastern. Â She totaled 90 assists in nine sets (10.0/set) with a career-high 36 in a win against Eastern. She had at least 26 assists in all three matches and added 20 digs (2.22/set) and nine service aces, including a career-high six in the win at McDaniel, in the three wins.

On the year, Swaak is one of just five Blue Jays who have played in all 21 matches and she's played in 75 of the team's 77 sets. She leads the team in assists (470), assists per set (6.7) and service aces (33) and ranks third in digs (130).

Johns Hopkins (14-7, 8-0 Centennial) will return to action on Wednesday, October 19 when the Blue Jays travel to Franklin & Marshall (12-7, 5-1 CC) for a key Centennial Conference match against the Diplomats (7 pm).Â
