EMMITSBURG, MD – The Johns Hopkins water polo lost a pair of road MAWPC games as JHU lost to Bucknell and Mount St. Mary's Saturday.
The Bison jumped out to a five-goal lead and would score 14 of the game's first 15 goals en route to an 18-4 win over the Blue Jays.
In the nightcap, the host Mount scored the game's first three goals and led 4-1 with 3:12 to play in the first quarter. Freshman

Alastair Powers scored back-to-back six-on-five goals to pull the Blue Jays back within one after one.

Emerson Sullivan continued the run with two goals to open the second quarter and put JHU on top 5-4. Following a timeout, Mount St. Mary's scored to tie the game with 5:11 to play in the quarter. Junior
Cameron Burns then sandwiched goals around a Mount strike and it was 7-5 Blue Jays. The Mount would score twice late in the quarter to take an 8-7 lead into the break.
Mount St. Mary's came out firing in the third quarter, scoring 13 of the next 14 goals to storm out to a 21-8 lead with 3:27 to play. Freshman
Daniel Palfi stemmed the tide with a pair of man-up goals, followed by two Brooke goals, including a five-meter, to account for the 21-12 final.
Hopkins returns to action on Saturday, October 15 with MAWPC road contests at Wagner and Fordham.
