« The Red Devils scored their most decisive win of the 2022 season as they topped visiting Juniata, 45-7, last Saturday at Biddle Field.

« Since the start of the 2010 season, the Blue Jays are 117-20 (.854) overall and 96-10 (.906) in the Centennial Conference.
« Overall, JHU owns 15 Centennial Conference titles (all won since 2002) and has qualified for the NCAA Playoffs 11 times (all since 2005).
Poll Position
« Johns Hopkins slipped from the top 10 in the nation in both the AFCA and D3football.com Polls after last week's loss at Susquehanna.
« The Blue Jays are ranked 18th by the AFCA and 17th by D3football.com this week.
November Reign

« The Blue Jays are 14-2 in their last 16 regular season road games in the month of November dating back to 2007.
« JHU has not lost a regular season home game in the month of November since 2007. The Blue Jays have won 15 consecutive regular season home games in November since that loss to F&M in 2007.
« In this century, Johns Hopkins is 22-2 in regular season home games in the month of November.
The Race for the Boot
« The Centennial Conference champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs. In the case of co-champions, a tie-breaking procedure is in place to determine which team will earn the automatic bid.
« With two games remaining, four teams remain alive with a chance to grab a share of the conference title; the path to the automatic bid has one clear leader. Below are some (not all) scenarios involving the four teams still in the hunt for either.
Johns Hopkins: The Blue Jays grab the outright conference title and the automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs with two wins coupled with two Susquehanna losses. Two wins coupled with one Susquehanna loss gets JHU a share of the title, but SU would land the automatic bid in this scenario.
Susquehanna: The River Hawks grab the outright conference title and the automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs with two wins. One win gets the River Hawks no worse than a share of the title and the automatic bid. Only two losses puts SU's chance at the automatic bid in jeopardy.
Muhlenberg:Â Two Muhlenberg wins coupled with two losses by both Susquehanna and Johns Hopkins and one loss by Ursinus gets Muhlenberg a share of the title and the automatic bid.
Ursinus: Two Ursinus wins coupled with two Susquehanna losses and at least one Johns Hopkins loss gets the Bears a share of the title. There does not appear to be a path to the automatic bid for Ursinus.
Home Streaking
« Johns Hopkins ran its home winning streak to 10 games (dating back to 2019) with the recent win over Gettysburg.
« The 10-game home winning streak is just two shy of the school-record of 12 set twice previously (2014-15 / 2017-18). JHU also had an 11-game home winning streak that bridged the 2012-13 seasons and 10-game home streaks from 1996-97 and 2002-04.
« Since the start of the 2010 season, the Blue Jays are 57-7 (.891) at Homewood Field.
Centennial Streaking
« Johns Hopkins had its 10-game Centennial Conference winning streak snapped with last week's loss at Susquehanna.
« The 10-game CC winning streak is the third-longest in school history. JHU won a CC-record 40 consecutive league games from 2012-17 and had a 20-game run from 2010-12.
« Including the most recent 10-game streak by the Blue Jays, there have been just nine Centennial Conference winning streaks of 10 games or longer since the league was formed in 1983. Johns Hopkins owns the longest and third-longest streaks in league history.
Jays Seventh in Scoring, Total Offense
« Through eight games, Johns Hopkins is averaging 46.9 points and 514.5 yards of total offense.
« The Blue Jays currently rank seventh in the nation in scoring offense and seventh in total offense.
A Fraternity of Two
« Johns Hopkins features one of the most balanced offensive units in the nation as the Blue Jays are averaging 233.4 yards per game rushing and 281.1 yards per game passing.
« Through games of October 29, Johns Hopkins is one of only two teams in the nation averaging more than 230 yards rushing and 280 yards passing. UMass-Dartmouth, which is averaging 243.7 yards rushing and 302.6 yards passing, is the only other Division III team in the nation averaging better than 230 yards rushing and 280 passing.
70+
« Johns Hopkins topped the 70-point mark for just the fifth time in school history with the recent 70-0 win against Juniata.
« The JHU school record for points in a game is 87 (Loyola/1924), while Hopkins has also hit the 70 mark against Gettysburg (83/2011), Juniata (77/2021) and Swarthmore (73/1997).
One Record Broken, One Record Tied
« Johns Hopkins set a school record with a 63-point showing in the first half of its recent game against Juniata. The previous record of 49 was set in the first half at McDaniel in 2017.
« JHU also tied the school record for most points scored in a quarter with a 35-point effort in the first quarter against Juniata. The Blue Jays scored 35 points in the first quarter at McDaniel in 2017 and matched that in the second quarter against Ursinus in 2021.
Topping 300
« Johns Hopkins rushed for a season-high 309 yards in the recent win against Muhlenberg. The 309 yards are the most for Johns Hopkins since the Blue Jays rushed for 400 yards in a 58-27 win at sixth-ranked Frostburg in the second round of the 2018 NCAA Playoffs.
« The 309-yard rushing performance is the 38th 300-yard rushing game in school history. JHU is 38-0 all -time when rushing for 300+.
Rush Defense Among Nation's Best
« The Johns Hopkins defense held Muhlenberg to 77 rushing yards in the recent 34-27 victory over the Mules and followed that up by allowing just 67 against Gettysburg. Susquehanna, which entered last week's game averaging 164.9 yards per game on the ground, did rush for 116 against the Blue Jays.
« Through eight games, the Blue Jays are allowing an average of just 74.6 yards per game on the ground to rank first in the Centennial Conference and 28th in the nation.
« The Blue Jays have held five of their last six opponents to less than 80 yards rushing and have allowed a total of just 346 rushing yards in the last six games (57.7 yards/game).
« Dating back to the start of the 2021 season (a span of 20 games), JHU has held the opposition to less than 80 yards rushing 12 times and less than 85 yards 13 times.
Schuermann Sets School Record
« Johns Hopkins junior Luke Schuermann set a school record with six sacks in the win at F&M on October 1. The previous record of five had been held by Dave Goldman since 1987, when he notched five in a 19-6 win over Saint Peter's.
« Schuermann's six sacks also tied the Centennial Conference single-game record and he is the only player in the nation (at any NCAA school) with a six-sack game this season.
« Entering this week's game against Susquehanna, Schuermann is tied for fourth in the nation (Division III) in sacks per game (1.31) and is tied for seventh in tackles for loss per game (2.20).
« On the year, Schuermann ranks second on the team in tackles (46) and leads the team and the Centennial Conference in sacks (10.5) and tackles for loss (18.0).
Closing on 6,000 ... and 60
« Johns Hopkins quarterback Ryan Stevens was 27-of-38 for 273 yards and three touchdowns in last week's game at #18 Susquehanna and is closing quickly on two more milestones.
« With his effort last week, he now has 5,846 passing yards and 59 touchdown passes in his career. He needs just 164 passing yards to become the sixth quarterback in school history to reach 6,000 and will become the fourth with 60 touchdown passes with his next scoring strike.
« Stevens eclipsed the 5,000-yard mark in his 20th career game to break David Tammaro's record for reaching 5,000 the fastest (21 games). For the record, both Stevens and Tammaro reached the mark in their 17th career start as Tammaro (4 games) and Stevens (3) saw limited time as freshmen.« Stevens was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week after the win against Muhlenberg as he was 25-of-36 for 139 yards with two TDs and one INT and also rushed for a career-high 80 yards and one score in the victory.
« On the year, Stevens is 179-of-252 (.710) for 1,925 yards with 26 TDs against just four INTs. He is currently tied for sixth in the nation in TD passes.
Wolf Into Top 5, Top 20
« Senior running back Danny Wolf rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns against Muhlenberg and added 85 yards at #18 Susquehanna to boost his season totals to 586 yards (117.2/game) and six touchdowns in five games (he has missed games against Juniata, Moravian and Gettysburg).
« His efforts thus far in 2022 push his career totals 1,690 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns on just 297 career carries.
« Wolf is now in sole possession of fourth place on JHU's career rushing touchdowns list and ranks 17th in career rushing yards.
Revere Ties Single-Game TDs Record
« Wide receiver Quinn Revere rang up eight catches for 123 yards and four touchdown receptions - all in the first half - against Gettysburg on October 23. For his efforts, he was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
« The four TD receptions tied the Johns Hopkins single-game record and mark just the third time a JHU player has had four TD catches in one game. College Football Hall of Famer Bill Stromberg had four against Georgetown in 1980, while Sam Wernick had four in a win at Susquehanna in 2010.
« With six receptions for 70 yards at #18 Susquehanna, Revere ran his 19-game career totals to 115 receptions for 1,624 yards and 22 touchdowns. He ranks 16th in school history in receptions, 17th in receiving yards and tied for seventh in TD receptions.
It's Been a While
« The Johns Hopkins defense posted its second consecutive shutout with the 54-0 victory over Moravian (Sept. 23). This came one week after topping Juniata 70-0 to give the Blue Jays back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2008.
« JHU held Juniata to just 123 yards of total offense and limited Moravian to just 106. This marked the first time the Blue Jays have held consecutive opponents under 200 yards of total offense since a three-game run early in the 2012 season.
« In the recent win against Juniata, the Blue Jays held the Eagles to -14 rushing yards. The last time Hopkins had held a team to negative rushing yards was on November 7, 2009, when the Blue Jays held F&M to -20 in a 51-13 victory.
200 ... and 10
« Nick Seidel, Johns Hopkins' career active leader in tackles, has been credited with 29 tackles through eight games. He recorded the 200th tackle of his career in the win against Muhlenberg on the same night he added his 10th career interception. He is now tied for 11th in school history in career interceptions with his 10.
« Seidel is the first Johns Hopkins player to reach 200 career tackles and 10 career interceptions since Matt Campbell rang up 256 tackles and 16 interceptions from 2001-04.
It's All Academic
« Johns Hopkins set a national record with eight CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in 2021. The eight are the most AAAs produced by one team, in any sport, in any division, in any year ... ever.
« Among the eight AAAs a year ago, six are back for the 2022 season and they include Ross Andersson (DB / 1st Team), Chris Bedell (DL / 2nd Team), Alan Gorny (OL / 1st Team), Luke Schuermann (DL / 1st Team), Emmett Turner (TE / 2nd Team) and JR Woods (OL / 1st Team).
« The eight AAA selections for the football team were part of a haul of 25 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans Johns Hopkins produced across all of its athletic programs in 2021-22 ... the 25 are a school record for one year and give Johns Hopkins 43 in the last two years.
