BALTIMORE, MD – The second-ranked and top-seeded Johns Hopkins women's soccer team beat McDaniel, 3-0, in the Centennial Conference Semifinals Friday night at Homewood Field.

Rachel Jackson nearly put Hopkins on the board in the 23
rd minute, but a diving save by Katherine Carstensen kept the game scoreless. Just 50 seconds later, Carstensen tipped a
Kacie Filian header over the crossbar.
It took until late in the first half, but the Blue Jays quickly turned a scoreless game into a two-goal lead. Graduate student
Breukelen Woodard did the honors, scoring twice in a 71-second span.
Woodard collected a pass from sophomore
Katie Sullivan and played a short ball to graduate student
Rebecca Rosen. She took one touch and played the ball right back to Woodard on her right. Woodard then ripped a shot from 22 yards out inside the right post in the 32
nd minute.
Freshman
Megha Salvi dribbled deep into the McDaniel end before sending the ball ahead to Woodard near the top of the box. Woodard ran onto the pass and blasted a left-footed shot to the far post to stake Hopkins to the 2-0 lead.
Filian pushed the lead to three in the 64
th minute when she headed home a great ball from graduate student
Kendall Dandridge.
Hopkins had a 21-8 advantage in shots and an 11-4 advantage in corners. Graduate student
Emma Huntzinger made three saves to post her sixth shutout of the season. Carstensen finished with eight saves in the loss for the Green Terror.
Hopkins will take on the winner of Swarthmore and Dickinson in the title game on Sunday, November 6 at Homewood Field.
