Tournament Program

Game Notes
• Johns Hopkins is the top seed in the Centennial Conference Tournament for the first time since 2015 and fourth overall. JHU went 16-2 in conference play this season. The 16 conference wins tie the school record as Hopkins also won 16 league games in 2019-20 and 2014-15.
• The Blue Jays have won five Centennial Conference Tournament titles, including the most recent in 2020. Hopkins also won the tournament title in 1999, 2007, 2014 and 2018.
• Hopkins enters the tournament ranked 13th in the nation and sporting a 20-3 overall record. This is JHU's third 20-win season under head coach Josh Loeffler and 10th overall.
• In four full seasons under Loeffler (the 2020-21 season was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic), Hopkins is 86-21 (.804) overall and 61-11 (.847) in the Centennial Conference.
• Friday's game will be the 106th all-time meeting between Hopkins and Ursinus, with the Blue Jays leading the series, 59-46. The teams have met five times in the Centennial Conference Tournament, with the Bears owning a 3-2 edge in those meetings. Hopkins has won eight straight over Ursinus, including a 84-68 win just six days ago in both teams' regular season finale.
• Ursinus finished as the fifth seed in the league and beat host and fourth-seeded Dickinson on Tuesday in the first round of the Centennial Conference Tournament.
• On November 10, in Hopkins' win over Salisbury, graduate student Conner Delaney became the 18th player in program history to score 1,000 points. He achieved the feat in just 69 games and he currently ranks fifth in JHU history with 1,370 career points. Delaney also ranks second in school history with 389 assists and needs just 10 to tie Dave Eikenberg's all-time record. He leads the Blue Jays and ranks in the conference with 18.7 points per game.
• Senior Tom Quarry is second on the team and eighth in the league in scoring (13.2 ppg). He also ranks third in three-pointers (61) and fourth in three-point percentage (.442). He has been named the conference player of the week twice this season and scored a season-high 27 points against Gettysburg on November 23.
• In his first season as a starter, junior Sidney Thybulle leads the Blue Jays with 6.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. He is shooting 62.4 percent from the field and is also averaging 1.56 assists per game. Thybulle had a career-best 18 rebounds in Hopkins' win at Dickinson on February 12 and posted his first career double double (10 pts, 10 reb) against Ursinus last Saturday. Thybulle leads the Centennial in field goal percentage, ranks second in offensive rebounds (63), fourth in blocks and fifth in rebounds.
• Junior Carson James, also in his first year as a starter, is averaging 9.8 points, 2.22 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. He has scored in double digits 13 times this season, including back-to-back 20-point games versus Muhlenberg and Gettysburg.
