• The Short Story: The Pointers scored six runs in the second and third innings to defeat Johns Hopkins on Wednesday morning in Florida.

How it Happened
• After a scoreless top of the first innning, Johns Hopkins struck in the bottom, jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead. Matthew Cooper led off the inning with a double to right. Tripp Myers came up and hit a two-run blast to right field, pushing Hopkins ahead 2-0.
• The Pointers respnded with a three-run second inning, forcing starter Jack McRae from the contest. McRae issued back-to-back walks before recording the first out via strikeout. A wild pitch put both runners in scoring position, but McRae induced a pop-out, putting himself just an out away from avoiding trouble. UWSP leadoff hitter Matt Baumann singled to center, driving in two to tie it at 2-2. After another wild pitch and a walk, Jonah Offman came on to pitch for McRae. An infield single loaded up the bases before Offman brought in a run with a bases-loaded walk of Bradley Comer.
Dillon Souvignier picked up an RBI on a sacrifice fly to tie the game Sam Frank continues to rake, leading off the inning with a triple to center. Souvignier lifted a ball to right, scoring Frank and tying the game.
• Now tied 3-3 in the third, UWSP added three more in the third inning to jump ahead 6-2. Anthony Tomczak doubled with one-out, moving up to third on a wild pitch. Offman retired the next batter, giving the Jays a chance to get out of it once again. Logan Matson hit a two-out RBI single to push the Pointers ahead by two. After a walk and a balk, Aaron Simmons singled and drove in two more runs to make it 6-2.
• After three straight scoreless innings from both sides with JHU junior righty Hyunwoo Roh keeping the deficit at four, the Pointers added another in the seventh. With two on and one away, Jakob Boos hit an RBI single, finally breaking through against Roh.
• The Jays picked up two runs in the seventh, cutting the deficit to two. James Ingram pinch-hit and was hit by a pitch with one out to put a runner on. Shawn Steuerer singled and the Jays loaded the bases after a Pointers error. Souvignier brought home Ingram with another sacrifice fly to make it 7-4. Dylan Whitney singled to left, scoring Steuerer to make it a two-run game.
 • The Pointers added two more runs in the ninth while the Jays couldn't push another run across.
