• The Short Story: Johns Hopkins scored 10 consecutive runs on Saturday afternoon, defeating Dickinson 11-3 in game of a doubleheader.
How it Happened
• The Jays scored a run in the top of the first inning getting a leadoff walk from
Matthew Cooper to start the game.
Tripp Myers singled and
Shawn Steuerer drew a one-out walk to load the bases.
Isaiah Winikur flew out to center, bringing in Cooper with a sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead.
Jack McRae loaded the bases and walked in a run before recording an out, but struck out two of the final three batters of the inning.
• After a pair of scoreless innings, the Jays took the lead in the fourth.
Jared deFaria hit a one-out single, advancing to third with a
Dylan Whitney double. With two outs, Cooper reached on an error by the Red Devils, scoring two runs to put Hopkins ahead 3-1.
• The Jays got two more in the fifth, starting to pull away with a 5-1 lead.
AJ King led off with a walk, followed by a Steuerer double. With two outs and a runner on second and third, deFaria singled to center, scoring two runs.
• deFaria struck again in the seventh inning, helping the Jays tack on three more to taking an 8-1 advantage. King, Steuerer and Winikur singled to load up the bases. King crossed home plate on a wild pitch. deFaria singled, scoring Steuerer before Whitney added a sac fly for the Jays.
• Hopkins crossed the 10 run threshold in the eighth inning. Cooper was hit by a pitch and scored on a Myers double. King singled and advanced on a wild pitch, putting runners on second and third. Steuerer singled to score Myers.
Dillon Souvignier flew out to right field, bringing home King with a sac fly to take an 11-1 lead.
Inside the Box Score
• The Jays totaled 16 hits in the first game, led by a perfect 4-4 day from the freshman Steuerer. deFaria racked up three hits and drove in three runs as well for JHU.
• Myers, Whitney, King and
Jack Walters all had multi-hit games for the Blue Jays who got the bats going after a slow offensive day on Friday. Â
• Despite McRae issuing five walks, the junior worked around the free passes wonderfully, allowing just five hits and one run in 6.0 innings to earn the win.  Â

• The Short Story:
Jack Tarantino was dominant in his first career start, holding the Red Devils scoreless over 6.0 innings while the bats came to life again to lead the Jays to a doubleheader sweep of the Red Devils.
How it Happened
• Cooper once again led off the contest by reaching base, this time with a single to center. With one away, King singled to right allowing Steuerer to bring in Cooper with a sac fly to kick off the scoring. An inning later, Walters homered to right, putting Hopkins up 2-0 with his first dinger of the season.
• The Jays put up a four spot in the fourth inning to take a 6-0 lead and command of the contest. Whitney reached on an error, followed by a Walters single.
James Ingram sac bunted to move the runners over and Cooper doubled to drive in the runs. King singled to center, bringing home Cooper and Steuerer drove in King with a triple to left.
• It became an 8-0 lead for the Jays in the sixth inning with Cooper adding another RBI with a single to left. Steuerer picked up another RBI on the day with a sac fly to score Cooper. Â
Inside the Box Score
• With the doubleheader sweep, the Blue Jays have won 12 of 13 against Dickinson and lead the all-time series 74-25-2. Â
• Tarantino started his first career game, striking out eight in 6.0 scoreless innings. Tarantino lowered his season ERA by nearly three points and has now struck out 25 in 18.2 innings.Â
• Cooper, King and Winikur totaled three hits in the second game with King totaling five hits on the day. Walters added a pair of hits including his second career homer to give him a four-hit day. King raised his average to .379 with 18 RBI on the season. Cooper is up to .317 and is tied for the team lead with 21 RBI.Â
• Steuerer added another hit and three RBI, giving him five hits and four RBI on the day. Steuerer has now leapt over .400 on the season, hitting .407/.451/.714 on the season. The freshman leads the team with 65 total bases.Â
