BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins placed three individuals on the 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-District II Men's At-Large Team it was recently announced; all-three Blue Jays named are repeat selections as men's tennis standout
Vishnu Joshi is making his third appearance on the team, while
Jeff Vitek (men's swimming) and
Jayden Kunwar (water polo) are making their second. The CoSIDA Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, be a sophomore or above and a starter or significant reserve. Joshi, Vitek and Kunwar will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot with the Academic All-America At-Large Teams set to be announced June 15. Â The At-Large Program includes athletes from the following sports: fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

Joshi, who competed as a graduate student in 2022, graduated last May with degrees in computer science and computer engineering and a 3.90 cumulative GPA and is currently pursuing a master's degree in computer science. Joshi is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American as he grabbed third team honors in 2020 and first team status in 2021. He is a four-time NCAA Singles Championship selection and advanced to the quarterfinals in 2021. Joshi ranks eighth in school history in career singles victories (57), tied for 14
th in doubles wins (53) and ninth in overall victories (110). He led Hopkins to four Centennial Conference Championships as well as four NCAA Tournaments, including the 2021 semifinals.

Joshi's selection gives the Blue Jay men's tennis program 16 Academic All-District selections since 2001, including 12 since 2010.

Vitek will graduate this week with a degree in a chemical and biomolecular engineering and carries a 3.92 cumulative GPA. A 16-time All-American and a First Team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2021, he holds Johns Hopkins records in the 100 and 200 Fly as well as the 200 and 400 Free Relays and the 200 and 400 Medley Relays. Vitek led Johns Hopkins to a runner-up finish at the 2022 NCAA Championships and a fourth-place finish at the 2019 NCAA Championships (the 2020 and 2021 championships were cancelled). The second-place finish is the eighth in Johns Hopkins men's swimming history.

The Hopkins men's swimming program has now produced 21 CoSIDA Academic All-District selections since 1991, including 10 in the last 11 years.

Kunwar boasts a 3.90 cumulative GPA as a computer science major. He earned Second Team All-America honors in 2019 and first team honors in 2021. His 99 goals in 2019 rank third in school history, while his 126 points that season rank fourth. After adding 60 goals and 28 assists in 2021, he ranks in the top 20 in school history in goals (12
th / 193), assists (T18th/60) and points (16
th/253). Kunwar has led Johns Hopkins to second (2021) and fourth (2019) place finishes at the USA Division III Water Polo National Championships.

The Blue Jay water polo program has now produced nine all-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selections. Eight of those have come since the 2009-10 academic year.
