CARLISLE, PA – Host Dickinson defeated the Johns Hopkins men's soccer team, 4-2, on Saturday night in both teams' regular season finale. JHU slips to 9-4-4 overall and 4-3-2 in the Centennial Conference while the Red Devils clinch a playoff berth at 9-6-2 overall and 3-4-2 in the CC.
Dickinson needed just 74 seconds to get on the board when Ethan Jarden scored off a corner kick to stake the Red Devils to the early lead. Hopkins drew level in the 48

Max Edelstein down the right sideline. He dribbled up field and then crossed the ball into the box, where Shapiro headed it in at the back post.
The Red Devils answered with a pair of goals in less than nine minutes midway through the second half to push out to a 3-1 lead. Saul Iwowo poked home a long free kick from Geoffrey Ogenrwot in the 62
nd minute to put Dickinson back on top. Dickinson doubled its lead in the 70
th minute after a scramble in the box Luke Beiles sent a low shot towards the goal, Colin Hofmann collected the shot, turned and slipped a shot inside the right post.
Edelstein pulled the Blue Jays back within one with just 63 ticks on the clock when he one-timed a loose ball in the box past Nick Potter. Iwowo tacked on one more in the waning seconds after a turnover at midfield.
Dickinson had a 17-15 edge in shots and a 5-2 advantage in corners. Senior
Drew Valsamedis finished with four saves for the Blue Jays while Potter notched eight for the Red Devils.
Hopkins returns to action on Tuesday, October 31 in the Centennial Conference Quarterfinals. JHU will host fifth-seeded Swarthmore at Homewood Field.
