BALTIMORE, MD – Fourteen Blue Jays scored as the Johns Hopkins water polo team beat visiting Conn College, 22-8, on Sunday.

It was a tight first quarter before Hopkins erupted in the second quarter. JHU jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals from seniors Seth Berke and Paul Gensbigler. But sophomore Jason Mihalopoulos answered with a six-on-five goal with two just ticks on the clock to put the Blue Jays up 3-1 after one.

Sophomore Quint Steffey opened the second quarter scoring to push the lead to three, but Cormac Stevens responded for the Camels and it was 4-2 with 4:48 to play. Sophomore Dado Soares book-ended a five-goal run as the Blue Jays pushed out to a 9-2 lead at the 2:03-mark. Siaki Nelson and Jesse Ellis halted the run with a pair of goals to cut it to 9-4 early in the third.

Berke scored back-to-back goals to push the lead to seven with 5:41 to play in the third.
