th-ranked Kean, 2-0, Friday in the NCAA Semifinals. Hopkins advances to the national championship game for the third straight year.
After a scoreless first quarter, it was Schoff that put the Blue Jays on the board late in the second. She dribbled through several defenders to the right endline, and the cut towards the circle before beating Cougars' goalie Jenna Flemmings to the back post with 3:35 to go in the half.
Waldeck gave Hopkins a two-goal cushion late in the third as the Blue Jays cashed in on a penalty corner. After three straight saves by Flemmings, Waldeck collected the rebound towards the right side of the circle and fired home the insurance goal to the middle of the cage.
Hopkins outshot Kean 22-3 while holding the Cougars to zero shots in the final 44 minutes. JHU also had an 8-2 advantage in corners. Loder finished with one save to earn her ninth shutout of the season. Flemmings made 14 saves in the loss for the Cougars.
Hopkins will take on the winner of top-ranked Middlebury and second-ranked Babson in the national championship game on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
