LEWISBURG, PA – The Johns Hopkins women's swim team finished in fifth place, out of seven teams, at the 2023 Bucknell Invitational. The Blue Jays added four NCAA B cuts and five career bests on the third and final day of the invitational. Over the weekend, Hopkins totaled 11 NCAA cuts and 13 career-best swims.
 
Junior Kristin Cornish opened the day with a second-place finish in the 1650 Free. She clocked in with a time of 16:49.76, the sixth fastest time in school history and an NCAA B time. Freshman Julia Tuinman finished in 11^th place with a time of 17:23.53 and junior Meg Susil placed 15^th in 17:40.70.
 
Senior Makenzie Higgins then took sixth in the B Final of the 200 Back, as she finished in 2:06.81. Senior Cameron Roche placed fourth in the C Final in 2:05.49 and classmate Caroline Storen finished in seventh in 2:07.46. Sophomore Alex Watson won the B Final of the 100 Free as she turned in a career-best swim of 52.17. Sophomore Claire Han finished in sixth place with a time of 52.73 and freshman Elizabeth Cohen placed second in the C Final with a career-best time of 52.15.
 
Junior Taylor Rohovit finished in sixth place in the 200 Breast and turned in an NCAA cut of 2:19.73. Sophomore Rachel Davis placed second in the B Final in 2:20.19. Her time was both a career best and an NCAA cut. Junior Michelle Liu took sixth place in 2:24.40 and sophomore Katherine Chelus took fifth in the C Final with a time of 2:24.94.
 
Freshman Ayden Min placed seventh in the B Final of the 200 Fly as she finished in 2:12.21. Freshman Kate Petitt won the C Final as she clocked in with a career-best time of 2:09.22. Hopkins ended the weekend with a fifth-place finish in the 400 Free Relay. The team of Higgins, Tuinman, Liu and Watson combined for an NCAA B time of 3:27.49.
 
Hopkins returns to action on January 13 at the Carnegie Mellon Quad Meet.
