Blue Jays Soar to 64-48 Win Over Franklin and Marshall

Peebles Leads the Way With Career-High 13 Points

LANCASTER, PA- The Johns Hopkins women's basketball team traveled up to Lancaster to take on Franklin & Marshall for its final away game before a three game home-stand. The Blue Jays came in with a two-game lead in the Centennial and were poised to keep that lead heading into the final few games of the season. JHU stormed out to an 11-point lead in the first quarter and held the lead the rest of the way to knock off the Diplomats, 64-48.

The Blue Jays found themselves up 18-7 at the end of the first, off the back of an impressive performance from Michaela O'Neil. The sophomore knocked down a pair of three pointers, as well as a layup to finish the quarter with eight points.

The Diplomats opened the quarter on an 11-2 run with five points coming from Ally Trebelev and four from Lizzie Neville to make the score 20-18. Johns Hopkins grabbed control back in the final five minutes with the help of freshman Elisabeth Peebles who knocked down two threes. Kendall Dunham also connected from three-point range with eight seconds remaining in the half to send the Blue Jays into the locker room buzzing with a 35-23 lead.

As they have so often this season, the Blue Jays put together a masterful defensive effort in the third quarter as they held the Diplomats to just seven points and 1-for-13 from the field. This allowed Johns Hopkins to open its lead up to 19 by the end of the quarter, which was capped off by another triple from Peebles. Johns Hopkins would continue to dominate throughout the fourth quarter and came away with the 64-48 victory.
