SAN ANTONIO, TX – The 26
th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team earned a 6-3 win over 24
th-ranked Colby Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Jays improve to 7-3 while the Mules sip to 3-3 on the season.
Hopkins grabbed an early 2- 1 lead in doubles and then won four singles matches to take the win. Graduate student

Emily Javedan took the first point of the match with an 8-4 win over Maddie Omicioli and Isabella Suk at second. Sam Riordan and Sydney Landau then beat freshmen
Jay Xiao and
Kamila Wong 7-5 at first to tie the match. Senior
Christina Huynh and freshman
Niamh Harding put the Blue Jays back on top with an 8-7 (5) win over Caleigh McClain and Amelie Gal at third.
Huynh opened singles play with a quick 6-1, 6-1 win at fifth over Suk to make it 3-1. Wong then beat Omicioli 6-3, 6-1 at third. Hurley clinched the victory when she beat Sydney Landau 6-1, 6-4 at second. Ellie Gershaw got one point back for the Mules with a 7-5, 6-2 win over senior
Anjali Devireddy at fourth. Riordan earned another win for Colby when she beat Xiao 6-4, 6-4 at first. Harding wrapped up the match with a 6-2, 7-6 (3) win over Gal at sixth.
Hopkins returns to action on Thursday, March 23 at 15
th-ranked Trinity (TX).
