« Starting this season, the Centennial Conference and the NJAC signed a scheduling a agreement that provides all teams in both leagues with three crossover games against teams from the other league.
« As chance would have it, Johns Hopkins drew the task of playing the three teams that ranked first (Salisbury), second (Christopher Newport) and third (Rowan) in the 2023 NJAC Preseason Poll.
« In week one of the crossover, the Centennial Conference won four of six games with one game (F&M-TCNJ) being lost to the weather.

Harvey Extends QB Streak at 12
« Junior Bay Harvey got the start at quarterback in the season opener against Ithaca. With the 27-17 victory over the Bombers, he extend a remarkable streak for Johns Hopkins starting quarterbacks that dates back 17 years to the 2006 season.
« Including Harvey's' win, 12 consecutive Johns Hopkins quarterbacks have won their first career start for the Blue Jays, a streak that started with Shane Kibbe's 21-14 win over Randolph-Macon early in that 2006 season.
Uggla Named to Allstate AFCA Good Works Team
« Senior RB Spencer Uggla was named to the 2023 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team it was announced on September 12, 2023.
« Uggla is the fifth Johns Hopkins football player named to the team as he joins Jim Sanders (2005), Brian Nickel (2006), Tim Miller (2009) and Alan Gorny (2022).
« Uggla was nominated by Johns Hopkins officials for his work off the field, which includes volunteering at the Johns Hopkins Food Pantry and the Hopkins Neuro-Oncology Surgical Outcomes Lab. In addition, he has been active with the "I Run 4 Michael" organization since 2015 where he has been paired with a young man named Daniel who has Down Syndrome and volunteers as an EMT with HERO (Hopkins Emergency Response Organization) on the Johns Hopkins campus.
« Uggla and the 22-man All-State AFCA Good Works Team will attend the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans at the end of this season. Team members will complete community service initiatives and be honored on the field at the Sugar Bowl.
Andersson Makes it Two Straight
« Senior DB Josh Andersson made it two straight Centennial Conference Defensive Players of the Week for Johns Hopkins as he was honored after the Blue Jays' 20-14 win over Christopher Newport.
« Andersson returned an interception 25 yards for a second-quarter touchdown to get the Blue Jays on the board, added two tackles and had the victory-clinching pass breakup in JHU territory on fourth down and less than a minute remaining in the
fourth quarter.
« Andersson's INT return for a score was the first for a Johns Hopkins player since Macauley Kilbane took one back 49 yards at McDaniel in 2021.
Instant Impact
« Freshman Cole Crotty wasted little time making an impact on the Blue Jay football program as he shined in his career debut in the 27-17 win over Ithaca.
« Crotty had three receptions for a team-high 83 yards and two touchdowns in the win over the Bombers.
« Crotty's first career reception went for a 54-yard touchdown midway through the second quarter that gave the Blue Jays a 14-10 lead they would never relinquish. He added a 27-yard touchdown catch late in the third quarter that pushed the lead to 27-10.
« Although some data is incomplete, there is no record of another freshman scoring two touchdowns in a season-opening game for Johns Hopkins dating back to 1972.
« Crotty added five receptions for 66 yards against Christopher Newport and now has eight receptions for 149 yards and two TDs on the year.
Record-Breaking
« Senior Luke Schuermann set Johns Hopkins single-season records for tackles for loss (26.5) and sacks (14.0) last season. He finished fourth in the nation in tackles for loss per game (2.4) and sixth in sacks per game (1.27).
« Through two games this season, Schuermann has nine tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks to run his career totals to 125 tackles, 50 tackles for loss and 27 sacks.
« Schuermann is just the third player in school history to record 50 or more tackles for losses.
