BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins football team will carry a pair of top 15 national rankings into its bye weekend as the Blue Jays check in at #10 (AFCA) and #12 (D3football.com) in the latest Division III football polls. The Blue Jays are currently 3-0 on the season and will return to action on Saturday, September 30 at Rowan (1 pm).

This week's AFCA Coaches Poll is the first of the season as the organization does not release a preseason poll and annually waits until after the third weekend to release its first poll of the season. This week's number 10 ranking marks the fifth time since 2015 that the Blue Jays have debuted in the top 10 in the AFCA's initial poll of a season and the 49
th time overall that Johns Hopkins has been ranked in the AFCA top 10.

D3football.com issued its fourth poll of the 2023 season this week and the Blue Jays have steadily climbed as they've won their first three games of the year. After opening at #18 in the Preseason Poll, Johns Hopkins jumped to 14
th and 13
th before landing the number 12 spot this week. Since the D3football.com Poll debuted in 2003, this week's #12 ranking marks the 140
th time that Johns Hopkins has appeared in the top 25.

Defending national champion North Central tops both polls this week. Mount Union (2
nd), Wisconsin-Whitewater (3
rd), Wartburg  (4
th) and Hardin-Simmons (5
th) round out the top five in the AFCA Poll. The same four teams follow North Central in the D3football.com Poll, with Wartburg (3
rd) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (4
th) trading spots.
