Johns Hopkins to Host ESPNW Campus Conversation Forum

BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins University Athletics has teamed up with espnW to host Campus Conversations, an event designed for its female student-athletes on Thursday, February 1.
 
As part of espnW Campus Conversations, Johns Hopkins will welcome three student-athlete alumnae plus an ESPN executive to share their experiences as student-athletes and professionals, and offer guidance on preparing for life after college and college athletics. The program looks to engage, inspire, and educate an audience of future leaders through panel discussions and breakout sessions.
 
Heather Dinich, ESPN.com senior writer and ESPN national college football insider, will serve as the moderator for the event. The panelists are Rosetta Ellis-Pilie, Dr. Robin West '93, Julie Wilson '07 and Haley Reitz '21. The event will take place in the Scott-Bates Commons Banquet Room from 7:00-8:45 pm.
 
Participant bios:
Heather Dinich
Dinich joined ESPN in 2007, and is now an ESPN.com senior writer and ESPN national college football insider. ESPN's foremost College Football Playoff insider, she is a regular contributor across ESPN studio programming, including the College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings shows, SportsCenterGet Up and more. Dinich has also served as an analyst on Championship Drive: Who's In for eight straight seasons.
 
Dinich previously worked for the Baltimore Sun as a sports reporter, mainly covering University of Maryland athletics. She graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in journalism and recently served as the 2021-22 president of the Football Writers Association of America. She resides in Baltimore and is the mother of three boys.
 
Rosetta Ellis-Pilie
Ellis-Pilie leads the efforts of ESPN's Talent Office, which is responsible for hiring ESPN's commentator team, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with stakeholders on all matters related to Talent responsibilities. Prior to her current role, she worked as an attorney in ESPN's Legal Department for a decade, during which she represented ESPN in employment law matters and served as lead attorney for ESPN Radio, the ESPY Awards, and ESPN's "combat sport" category.
 
Prior to ESPN, Ellis-Pilie worked for Sun Chemical Corporation, where she represented the company in labor and employment matters both domestically and abroad and served as Chairperson of its global Compliance Committee. Prior to joining Sun Chemical, she was a Labor and Employment Associate at McDermott, Will & Emery and Proskauer Rose LLP.
 
Ellis-Pili earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Seton Hall University and her J.D from the University of Virginia School of Law. She is also a veteran of the US Army.
 
Dr. Robin West
Dr. West was a member of the Blue Jays swim team and is a 1993 graduate of the University with a degree in biology. She is a board-certified orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon. The Chairman of Inova Sports Medicine, Dr. West directs the clinical, strategic, administrative and academic affairs of the comprehensive program.
 
Dr. West currently serves as the Lead Team Physician for the Washington Nationals. She served for 18 years in the NFL as the team physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders. During her time in Pittsburgh, PA, she also served as team physician for the athletic department of the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University.
 
Julie Wilson
Wilson is an Army veteran and Sales & Marketing leader for Textron Aviation. While in the Army, she deployed to Kuwait (2009) in a consequence management mission, and to Afghanistan (2012) as an intelligence officer with a counter-IED task force. Since joining Textron in 2013, Wilson has held positions of increased responsibility, often being called on to lead change initiatives. She currently leads the US Aftermarket Sales team for Textron's largest subsidiary, Textron Aviation.
 
Wilson is an active board member of the Johns Hopkins University Athletic Alumni Association and is passionate about improving networking opportunities for female athletes. She holds a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from Johns Hopkins and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Business.  While at Hopkins, Wilson was captain of the women's basketball team, ROTC scholarship cadet, and teaching assistant in the applied mathematics department.
 
Haley Reitz
Haley Reitz is a Private Wealth Management Analyst for Goldman Sachs and resides in New York. She is a 2021 graduate of Johns Hopkins with a bachelor's degree in economics.
 
Reitz was a three-year starter on the Blue Jay women's lacrosse team. While at Hopkins, she was a program assistant at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth and a member of the Outreach Committee of JHU's Women in Business. Reitz interned at Rabil Companies, T. Rowe Price and AIG as an undergraduate. She was also a volunteer with Thread, which pairs a "family" of volunteers that support and tutor a Baltimore student in and outside of the classroom over a 10-year period.
