« The three touchdown passes the Blue Jays have allowed are the fewest in the nation in Division III. Johns Hopkins is one of just three teams in Division III, Division II, FBS or FCS that has allowed just three touchdown passes; the others are Texas (FBS) and Valdosta St. (Division II).
Paxton Giving Jays a Leg Up
« Johns Hopkins freshman kicker Brad Paxton entered the Blue Jay record book in the win at Gettysburg. For his efforts against the Bullets, he was honored as the Centennial Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
« Paxton hit all six of his extra points and was 3-for-3 on field goals as he was good from 27, 20 and 30 yards in the victory against the Bullets. His 15 points tied the Johns Hopkins single-game record for points by a kicker.
« Entering this week's game at McDaniel, Paxton is 18-of-21 on extra points and has hit 11-of-14 field goals on the year. His 11 field goals are tied for the Centennial Conference lead, are tied for the most by a freshman in Johns Hopkins history (Alex Lachman-11 (2007) and are tied for the eighth-most in a season in JHU history.
« Paxton's 11 field goals are also tied for the most in the nation in Division III among freshmen.
The Craddock, Peters Race to 175
« Seniors Oliver Craddock and Cole Peters both eclipsed the 150-tackle mark for their career in the recent win at Ursinus and both enter this week's game against McDaniel with exactly 170 career tackles to their credit.
« Peters counts a team-high 72 tackles to his credit this season after punching up eight tackles last week against Dickinson.
« Craddock currently ranks second on the team in tackles this season (60) and also had eight last week against Dickinson.
Rich Tops 1,000
« Senior Andrew Rich rushed for a team-high 81 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries in the win against Dickinson and, in the process, became the 31st player in school history to top the 1,000-yard mark.
« Rich's 81 yards against the Red Devils bumped his career total to 1,053 yards, which moved him into 28th place on JHU's career rushing list. He needs 147 yards to jump into the top 25.
Road Warriors
« Johns Hopkins went a perfect 5-0 on the road in 2023 and won its 10th consecutive road game with the win at Ursinus on October 26.
« The current 10-game road winning streak is tied for the third-longest road winning streak in program history and tied for the sixth-longest active road winning streak in the nation.
« In their last 23 road games dating back to 2019, the Blue Jays are 20-3. All three losses came against teams ranked in the top 20 at the time of the game (#6 Muhlenberg-2019 | #4 Mount Union-2021 | #18 Susquehanna-2022).
