BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins turned in six NCAA B cuts and picked up 674 points on the third and final day of the Loyola H20unds Invitational. The Blue Jays totaled 1408 points over three days to finish in second place.
The Blue Jays wasted no time in getting their first NCAA cut of the night as
Jaya Veerapaneni,
Taylor Rohovit,
Kennedy Lee and
Elizabeth Cohen turned in a swim of 3:49.67 for fourth place in the 400 Medley Relay.
Meg Susil followed with a third-place finish and a B cut in the 1650 Free as she clocked in with a time of 17:16.21.
Lee then led a quartet of Blue Jays in the A Final of the 200 Back. In her first time swimming the event in college, she turned in an NCAA B cut of 2:02.17 and finished second.
Nyah Stahl placed fourth with a season-best swim of 2:03.78.
Sarah Fox and Veerapaneni had career-best swims of 2:05.35 and 2:06.33 respectively, to place seventh and eighth.
In the 100 Free, Cohen led Hopkins with a career-best swim of 51.51 to place fifth. Her time is just nine-hundredths of a second off a B cut.
Melissa Er followed in seventh place with a career-best swim of 52.05. Rohovit paced four Blue Jays in the A Final of the 200 Breast. She finished in second place with an NCAA B cut of 2:17.70.
Michelle Liu placed third with a career-best and NCAA B cut of 2:18.99.
Rachel Davis took seventh place (2:24.60) and
Katherine Chelus took ninth (2:30.14).
Kate Petitt picked up another second-place finish, as she swam a career-best 2:07.64 in the A Final of the 200 Fly.
Ayden Min won the B Final as she clocked in at 2:11.28. Hopkins ended the weekend with its fourth runner-up finish. Liu, Cohen, Er and
Anna Miler combined for a swim of 3:27.01 in the 400 Free Relay. The quartet's time is an NCAA B cut.
JHU is back in the pool on Friday, December 6 for the Blue Jays' home opener. Hopkins will host Rowan at 4:00 pm in the Newton White Aquatic Center.
