LANCASTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins men's basketball team has been picked to finish second in the Centennial Conference in a preseason vote of the conference's coaches. Hopkins grabbed three first-place votes and a total of 71 points.
Gettysburg was picked to finish first as the Bullets earned seven first-place votes and 78 points. Franklin & Marshall (65 points), Swarthmore (57 points) and Ursinus (54 points) round out the top five.
The Blue Jays have been picked either first or second in each of the last six preseason polls. Hopkins has played in the last six Centennial Conference Championship games and won three titles.

Ryan Cain returns two starters, seniors
John Windley and
Brian Johansson, from last year's squad that went 20-7 overall and 15-3 in the conference. Windley earned First Team All-Centennial and Second Team NABC All-Region honors after averaging 15.6 points and 4.5 rebounds last season. Johansson averaged 7.7 points and 3.5 rebounds in 24.7 minutes per game.
Hopkins is set to open the season on Friday, November 8 at Marymount. Tip-off at Converse Family Fieldhouse is slated for 7:00 pm.
