WESTMINSTER, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's cross country team put on a show at the ECAC Division III Mid Atlantic Championships Friday afternoon, sweeping the top 12 spots to cruise to victory over McDaniel and Delaware Valley.
Lydia Tolerico earned the first win of her collegiate career in Friday's 6K, pulling away late to beat out the rest of the field with a time of 23:58.4 — the only sub-24-minute 6K run on the day. Coming in just behind the junior was
Kayla Ritzman, whose time of 24:03.6 was enough to earn the freshman second in the race, with
Eleni Alvarez's third-place finish with a time of 24:15.5 completing a Blue Jays sweep of the podium.
Rachel Allison and
Lena Cakulev rounded out the perfect day for Hopkins, finishing in fourth and fifth with times of 24:41.4 and 24:45.9 to give the Blue Jays the lowest possible score of 15 points. Hopkins was far from done, however, with
Natalie Boquist (6
th / 24:51.4),
Amaiah McIntosh (7
th / 24:56.6),
Caitlin Garrett (8
th / 24:59.5),
Emily Roskowski (9
