GREENSBORO, NC – Three Blue Jays earned All-America honors for the first time for the Johns Hopkins women's swim team Thursday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Blue Jays picked up 25 points on the second day of the NCAA Championships and sit in 14
th place with 36 total points.
Freshman
Julia Tuinman opened the day with an eighth-place finish in the 200 Free. She clocked in with a time of 1:51.66 in the championship final to garner First Team All-America honors. It is the second straight year that JHU has had a swimmer in the championship final of the 200 Free.
Hopkins then took 10
th place in the 400 Medley Relay. The team of freshman

Kate Petitt and junior
Michelle Liu shaved 1.97 seconds off their prelim time to finish in second place in the consolation final. JHU has now produced an All-America team in the 400 Medley Relay in six of the last seven years. The quartet earn Second Team All-America honors with its finish, with Lan and Petitt earning the honor for the first time.
The NCAA Championships continue on Friday at 10:00 am with the prelims of the 200 Fly. The finals are scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm.
