CLAREMONT, CA – Johns Hopkins wrapped up its spring break trip with an 8-1 win over 33
rd-ranked George Fox Sunday at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The Blue Jays improve to 5-3 on the season while the Bruins fall to 4-5.
Hopkins swept doubles to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Sophomore

Chakor Rajendra grabbed the first point of the match when they beat 16
th-ranked Hunter Fujimori and Zach Moore, 8-3, at number three. Graduate student
Hanyu Liu and freshman
Joshua Kim then defeated Eli Mizerski and Lars Schmassman, 8-5, at two. Senior
Daniel Ardila and junior
Marco Azar completed the doubles' sweep with an 8-5 win over Nanase Ebisu and Vahag Pashayan at one.
Azar pushed the Blue Jays' lead to 4-0 with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Alle Banna at number five singles. Rajendra then clinched the win as he beat Pashayan, ranked 42
nd in the nation, 6-2, 6-1 at two. Liu followed with a 6-0, 6-4 win at three of Fujimori, ranked 40
th nationally.
Ardila put Hopkins up 7-0 as he rallied for a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (6) win at one over Mizerski, ranked 12
th in the nation. Schmassmann picked up the Bruins' lone point with a close 7-6 (4), 6-3 win at four over Kim. Sophomore
Pranav Gadiraju closed out the match with a come-from-behind win over Ebisu 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (7).
Hopkins returns to action on Tuesday, April 2 at Gettysburg. The Centennial Conference match is slated for a 4:00 pm start.
