LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins baseball's
Dillon Souvignier has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week, as released by the conference this morning. A force at the plate in a 3-0 stretch for the Blue Jays, the junior went 5-11 with two doubles, two homers and eight RBIs to claim his first weekly honor of the season.
Souvignier opened the week in dominant fashion, going 3-4 with two doubles and one homer against Washington College. In a game Hopkins (17-6, 5-0 Centennial) won just 8-6, the junior's career-best six RBIs were the difference to keep the Blue Jays perfect in conference play.
Following his career outing against the Shoremen Souvignier stayed hot in a doubleheader against Ursinus, hitting his second home run in as many days in a 10-1, Game 1 victory before hitting the walk off single to clinch the 5-4, Game 2 win and series sweep over the Bears.
Hopkins is back in action Tuesday, April 9 to take on Swarthmore in a battle between the top two teams in the conference thus far. First pitch for the Centennial showdown is set for 3:30 p.m.
