SALISBURY, MD – The 18
th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer team controlled the stat sheet but couldn't solve Salisbury goalie Hayle Foreman as the Blue Jays and Sea Gulls battled to a scoreless tie at the Salisbury Soccer Complex Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Jays extend their unbeaten streak to four and now stand at 2-1-2, while the Sea Gulls picked up their third tie in six games and are 2-1-3 on the year.
Â
Johns Hopkins outshot the Sea Gulls 14-5 and took six of the seven corner kicks in the game, but Foreman made six saves to salvage the draw for Salisbury.Â
Tia Harrison went the distance in goal for Johns Hopkins and posted three saves to secure the first solo shutout of her Blue Jay career.
Â
The Blue Jays collected six shots in the first half and nearly broke through early, but
Carrie McIntire's shot that appeared ticketed for the top corner found the crossbar instead in the 11
th minute.
Â
Johns Hopkins allowed just two second-half shots – and none in the final 29 minutes – to preserve the shutout. On the flip side, Foreman made two of her six saves in the final 10 minutes on offerings from
Natalie Smith and
Lilah Isenberg to lock down her shutout.
Â
The scoreless draw is the first for Johns Hopkins since September 28, 2019.
Â
Johns Hopkins will return to action on Wednesday, September 18 when the Blue welcome TCNJ to Homewood Field (7 pm).
