BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins swept the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) East Player of the Week honors after going 4-0 at the Austin Invitational. Senior
Iason Mihalopoulos was selected as the Player of the Week and freshman
Mason Hofmann was tabbed the Newcomer of the Week.
Mihalopoulos totaled 14 goals and three assists, along with five drawn ejections, four steals and two blocks. He opened the weekend with two goals, one assist, two drawn ejections and one steal against Caltech. He followed that with five points (4g, 1a), three drawn ejections, two steals and two blocks versus Ottawa. On Sunday, Mihalopoulos scored twice and grabbed a steal against UC Merced. He wrapped up the weekend with six goals and an assist against Austin.
Hofmann finished with 12 goals, four assists, one drawn ejection and nine steals the four wins. Against Caltech, he scored twice and drew one ejection. He notched five goals, two assists and two steals versus Ottawa. Hofmann grabbed four steals and scored a goal against UC Merced. He closed out the weekend with four goals, two assists and three steals versus Austin.
Hopkins (7-1) returns to action on Saturday at the Bruno Invite against Chapman and MIT.
