Johns Hopkins Earns Tie at Haverford, 1-1

HAVERFORD, PA – Brendan Listzwan scored late in the second half to help Johns Hopkins secure a 1-1 tie at Haverford Saturday in Centennial Conference action. The Blue Jays are now 2-3-5 overall and 0-0-2 in the conference, while the Fords remain unbeaten 5-0-5 and 0-0-2.

The home team got on the board early, capitalizing on a free kick about 30 yards from goal. Juan Rivera sent the ball to the far side of the Blue Jay box, where it was headed to goal by Josh Brown. The ball bounced inside the six-yard box and appeared to deflect of John Dowd in the eighth minute.

Hopkins drew level in the 77th minute off Listzwan's second goal of the season. Sean Vaghedi lofted a long throw-in from the left sideline to the near side of the box, where Listzwan headed it just under the crossbar from 12 yards out.

Simon Turner and John Ghanem split time in the goal for the Blue Jays and finished with two saves each. Grayson Benson totaled four saves for the Fords. Haverford had a 15-11 edge in shots, while Hopkins finished with an 8-2 advantage in corners.
