BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins freshman
Luke Mendelsohn has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Delfina Player and S&R Sport Newcomer of the Week. He totaled seven goals, 10 assists and 14 steals to lead Hopkins to a 3-1 record on its opening weekend.
Mendelsohn scored four goals and assisted on a fifth, to go with four steals, in his collegiate debut. He followed that with a goal, three assists and four steals in the win over host Washington & Jefferson. On Sunday, Mendelsohn tallied three points (1g, 2a) and three steals in a tough loss to Salem. He wrapped up the weekend with one goal, four assists and three steals in the win over Penn State Behrend.
Hopkins returns to action on Sunday, September 13 against Ottawa (AZ) and Caltech in Southlake, TX.
